2011 E350 Bluetec User Reviews

Hello - my wife is thinking of trading her 08 GL320 on a 2011 E350 Bluetec. Looking for any user experiences and combined mpg. She does mostly highway driving. I think she should keep the GL320, but she wants even better gas mileage. I have searched the forum too. Thanks!!!

I've been getting about 31.5 mpg on my normal commute which is 80% highway. I was driving a Lexus ES350 that got 26 mpg for the commute. My wife loves her ML350 BlueTec and I'm sure it gets better mileage than the GL because of size, but probably not enough to justify the cost of a new vehicle...

They are hard to find here in socal I went to Walters in riverside, ca and the sales manager told me they did not exist. I bought mine where I got my last two MB's, I just happen to be in he area. Well I love the car. The mpg is the real reason I got it. And 91 is more here in socal, so it cost less to fill. The add blue is not cheep so get service deal when you buy the car for free as a add on. Now it lacks pep, but can pass trucks and the sort when need be. I can hear the motor most times but just play some XM radio or HD radio and it's gone. Now my last few sports cars did not have a spare but I have farmers insurance and the have the best road side program in town. Add that to the MB and your set if you have a blow out. If you have farmers here in ca they will pay the full road side tow bill or what ever it takes to get your car driving so if you call a mobile road side tire service and have them bring a tire and install it on the road they should pay, mine did for my other car.

I'm off track, sorry but the E is a tad small in the back seat but makes up for it with comfort, I would not put 3 adults in the back and I have not tried this but looks like 3 car seats are also out o the question. I love the fold down seats and iPod hook up.

All in all I your not going to buy a e550 the bluetec IMO is a best bet. I remember the old 280 D and my buddy drove one 340,000 no joke. So this is a long hall car one that will last 10-15 years. Enjoy and go buy one.

I've had my E350 Bluetec for a a month now.... I LOVE the car... I really dont have any complaints. I special ordered mine, and ordered it fully optioned. I am getting about 31 mpg average. I do think it will get better once its broken in. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to answer.
