Tire Pressure

Hi,
According to the sticker on door frame, Tire pressure should be 33 or 34 PSI. My computer (on instrument panel) says I have 29 in 3 tires and 28 in 4th one. My question is - how reliable is the computer? I do not have a tire pressure gauge, but I can get one if you think I should not rely on the computer - or the dealer to service it right. Thanks.

Tires should be checked every couple of months for correct tire pressure. Best time is first thing in the morning when tires are cold. The best place to look for proper inflation is on the inside of the fuel filler door. My car is 32 frt and 35 rear with normal load. With max load it's 33 frt and 42 rear.

Is computer reliable, or you use a separate gauge?

The computer is pretty accurate. I would rely on it if you don't have a gauge.

My TPMS display appears to be very accurate. One consideration is that you may have to drive for some distance before all four tires have the same pressure on the display.
If different after driving for a while, get a gauge and next morning check tires. Preferably not when sun is hitting one side of car more than other.
Once you decide on correct pressure, you can adjust the TPMS per instructions in the manual.
Biggest concern I had was the different TP's. Two on door panel, two on fuel filler flap and two in Operator's Manual. I settled on 2 lbs. over the lower-32F, 37R.
I also periodically measure tread depth to make sure tires are wearing evenly-and adjust pressure accordingly.
I use a hand pump like you would use for riding mowers, bicycles, etc. to add air. Little more effort, but more accurate than driving to a station.

Totally normal... As you drive, your tires heat up and the air inside expands. Therefore, your tire pressure increases. That's why they always tell you to inflate your tires "cold"... like first thing in the morning.

Computer seems very accurate, and that's my favorite screen too. It's always a good thing to invest in a good gauge as well. That way you can measure it in the mornings when it's cold without driving too much. No need to raise BP for TP .
