I love you guys who are trying to feel better by convincing yourselves that the honk is in any way acceptable for this car.

Next thing we see will be M-B putting manual-rolling windows in our cars, and owners claiming that it's better this way, because you don't deal with electronic window motor failures.

you might as wel call me out, LOL, I may be the only one who didn't seem to care....
I actually just turned the stupid horn off too.......unless you were a blind man I don't see what a chirp or a beep is really needed for anyway to merely tell you your car is locked....
but totally 'to each...' and all that, hehe....I was 'just saying'.........

what is so unacceptable about it anyway?

Well, mine works a good 50 yards away, which in a parking lot can hide this low profile car behind a lot of other vehicles.

I'd like to mod my sound to a goat or maybe some type of barnyard animal..........
either that or an air horn.........and another thing......when I need to use the horn itself it's like pressing on an iron weight......it takes a lot of force to even use the stupid horn........on my truck it's effortless, same on my volvo.........

Air horn Mod sound cool. I prefer the effort needed to activate our horn. In some cars it’s too easy and sometimes I activate the horn by accident. In our cars when you want to use the horn you have to deliberately press it.

Was anyone able to find a mod that changes the Acoustic lock noise back to the "Chrip"?

Super disappointed in my "Honk", and currently have the Acoustic feedback feature disabled completely. I guess it's not as disappointing as having stupid red turn signals..... -_- But it's very close.

What year did they change it to a honk 2011? Mines still chirps on lock and unlock. I believe it's a double chirp on lock and one chirp on unlock for a single door.

Wait a minute, I checked and I was wrong. My 2011 is a 09/10 build. Maybe you got the last one to chirp and mine is the first one to honk.

Mine is P2 with keyless,
Would that has anything to do with it?

I'm not sure if I call mine a chirp. It's more like click click sound. I turned it off anyhow so now is silenced. It's not a horn for sure.

So, I'm going to guess it's a no on the ability to change from the cheap sounding horn to the more refined euro style chirp? Lol

Awesome, thanks Mercedes

Not unless you remove your horn and replace it with something that chirps.

Yeah I checked again and it's 3 chirps on lock and one chirp on unlock.

I thought my build was 09 but I have to check again, since I don't have it on hand. I also have P2 with Keyless. That is very odd that some of our cars have it and some don't. Let me get back when I can confirm my build date for sure.

April 2010 build date for my 2010 and it's a chirper. Funny my wife's Honda honks only if you press the key the second time after locking the doors. That would be great if MB gave you the option to hear the chirp or horn only if you wanted to by pressing the fob or touching the door a second time.
