MY 2012
I think its just available design, right now we can only have "Burl Walnut Wood Trim" and "Black Ash Wood Trim" there might be more choices i.e. Designo options for trim.
HOW damn lazy and careless can they be with the W212.
It reminds me of the early Ford days: "You can have any color you want, as long as it's black".
They just want to maximize profits on this car, careless as to all of them being forced to look, and be optioned exactly alike. This in the long run will just diminish the ownership and buying excitement of the car, hurting the prestige and resale in the long run.
And again, BMW's F10 offers plenty of variations, both aesthetic, and otherwise. Go to a BMW Dealer and realistically or pretend to Option out an F10, then do the same with a W212. You'll realize immediately which brand is catering to enthusiasts more, and which is a funner and more exciting car to build. Even the interior color variations on the F10 beat out the interior combo's on the 212.

Interesting news that the newest 2011s are getting the straight DRLs. Bring on those photos Fatalplaya!

This isn't directed at Fatalplaya-- he's got a great car that I'm sure he'll be happy with-- but I'm surprised that dealers try to pull stuff like this. Obviously it's going to be verified soon enough that it's a new engine in the 2012s.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I am going to pull a KA and predict that the sport models will retain the Hockey sticks (that one is a gamble but I think they will)
I also predict that the new E will have new engines. (that one is a petty safe bet)
Nobody knows for sure, we are all still waiting on "reliable" info.
Further: P:59, Consumer Reports April, 2011, issue, they close their synopsis review of the W212 E350 Sedan with the sentence, "A new V6 arrives for 2012." CR is not always correct about things, but they generally research what they put in print reasonably thoroughly. In other words, they're not prone to spreading rumors, at least not in their official test results pages.
Connected folks (I'm not one of them!) here and elsewhere are fairly unanimous in saying the new engines will debut in the 2012 E's.
The only problem may be with the Lean Burn technology found on the new motors in their European iteration. Apparently, our U.S. gasoline is not as clean as the petrol across the pond and poses problems that MB either could not or did not care to address at this time. Therefore, the U.S. versions of the new engines may not provide as much of the increased fuel mileage efficiency originally promised. This, too, has been discussed both here and elsewhere.
Again, we'll see it when we see it.
Best of luck with your new Benz.

He checked his computer and found nothing. Is there some way we could get the complete information? I wonder if what we have read is preliminary and has not been completely finalized? Any further information would be really appreciated.
lol............wtf?
2012 E350 won't be available to order until late June or July, delivery September-November. Exact dates have not been released yet because "final touches with the new motor have not yet been finalized".
Take it with a grain of salt along with everything else until there is "official" word...
