![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
In addition to the Obisidian/black car, I was offered an irridium/black or paladium/black for the same deal.
Anyone have good comp pics of irridium vs paladium to share? MB website doesnt do either color justice.
Thanks

I don't have a picture, but irridium silver is the standard lighter silver color that Mercedes has been selling forever. You've seen a zillion of them. I had a 2000- e320 in that color. Great color for looking clean long after you need a car wash. The Paladium silver is a deeper color with more grey in it. There is no substitute for seeing it live. Regards. Ned.

I won't post any pictures of my Palladium Silver W212 because I don't want you to see what it looks like but I can say you MUST take the Iridium silver.
There are not many Palladiums on the road and I would like to keep it that way so take the more common Iridium silver, please.

Paladium seems to be increasingly popular, but it comes off as a bronze-ish color to me sometimes. Not really my thing, but lots of people seem to be digging it.

I have the Palladium Silver with the Sport Package and AMG Wheels. IMO it looks pretty good. Catches alot of looks and is the only one in my sleepy little town.

Both colors are fantastic in person. The Palladium is a very classy rich color and looks great in the sun. The Iridium is a timeless classic that as others have mentioned just never looks dirty. The only downside to the Iridium is that while it may not show dirt, if amplifies any scratches or scuffs you end up with. Only reason I didn't go that route as I think it is the best looking color for an E.

I have an obsidian black 2001 e55. It's nice, but the classic Mercedes black is also a great color, I might actually prefer it. My new favorite black, that is pretty rare so far, is the Disigno Platinum black, which I saw for the first time a few weeks ago at my dealership. Absolutely stunning!! I believe that is a big pay-up color. I think that Mercedes usually has as nice a color palette available as anyone in the industry. I personally like most of them although I tend to lean toward silvers and/or greys. My 2011 e550 is indium grey and I actually had a steel grey e350 breifly(thats another story!!) that I though was a great color, especially if you like a touch of blue. The indium grey is kind of gun metal. That was my first choice and don't have any "color" buyers regret. Good luck. Ned.

I am getting a cab with a black top, so keep in mind the color will need to go well with it.
ngerstman: Platinum black is supposed to be stunning, is it the same price option as diamond white about $1500?
KA: you are correct the color that iridium replaced was brilliant silver and is a close match.

The two colors are definitely not the same. The difference may be due to the 2008 being 3 yrs older with the sun and whatnot, but it is definitely a noticeable difference.
Not sure about the brilliant silver tho.

Oh man, that could have saved a lot of time and confusion, as I can now understand what you mean more-so. The E-Coupe certainly should see some improvements, since the facelift and new Coupe C-line, are very very close to it in appearance and perceived material quality (maybe even better

I'll add that I think Indium Silver and Steel Grey on the W212 gives off an extremely sophisticated look, probably the most out of any other colors available on the car.
What's weird is that I remember seeing a photo of an Arctic White BRAND NEW '09 E, next to an Arctic White brand new '10 E, and the '10's color looked MUCH sharper, less "yellowed", and more cunning.
I almost want to say that it seems M-B changed up their paint quality, as whenever you see a 212 next to a 211 with the same color, the 212's paint comes off as sharper.
Edit: Here are the pics:

RJC, are you saying that after that long and drawn out discussion on possible interior changes, you were referring to the E-Cope/Cab the whole time? ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

So, K-A and all here, after pages of excellent dialogue in the MY2012 thread, should I go for the new TT DFI 2012 or get the 11?

LOL, ahh yes, that could have saved some time, hehe.
If I were you, with the C-Coupe possibly changing things up with the E Coupe (possibly), I'd wait. It's only about 4-5 months or so (easier said than done, I know).

I don't think anyone is expecting a facelift but in addition to the new engines and further refinement of the trans, perhaps the new CLS steering wheel, a plastics upgrade and a minor redesign of the front LEDs...
