How to add backview camera?

i want to buy e-class w212 350 engine. it has navigation and command. but backview camera is absent.
question: is it possible to add a camera to this system? i mean the original one, in order to be able to display back view in the navigation monitor

backup camera is optional outside the US, the OP is probably on a non US spec car.

Probably possible at a significant expense.

However, you should question if you really need this feature. I have it on my E350 and honestly never use it. The Mercedes implemention does not provide any features to make it useful for packing in tight spaces, etc.

I would recommend you try this feature out at a local dealer and see if you think it is beneficial.

Best of luck with whatever you decide on.

Backview camera is amazing to me.

I don't see why you guys need lines to help you park.

I don't use mine for aligning in a parking spot though, as much as I do use it as a substitute for a rear parking sensor (to not hit anything). It works amazing in that.

One thing I wish it could do, is turn on at your command, i.e, not only when you put the car in reverse. Sometimes it'd be nice to see how close someone is pulling up behind you, or see what's going on back there, etc.

I wonder if anyone can come up with a hack for this?

Have you actually ever tried a car with a back up camera properly implemented to assist with parking

After test driving an Infiniti, I folded the mirrors and backed the car into a parking spot with no more than 6 inches on either side. This car actually had a visual rear parking sensor that had useful information. (I'd love to watch some customer try that with a new E350 at the Mercedes showroom!)

The MB implementation of the camera is second rate. It reminds me of cars that advertise "heated power seats" -and you find out they have a heated seat bottom but no heat on the back rest - one temperature level versus 3 - and power adjustable back and forth but no height adjustment.

The proper implementation of a feature differentiates a quality car from the competition. I expect more of MB in regards to the back up camera.

I never use my back up cam. It's confusing. You can do without Taleh.

I guess I just use mine for its benefits. If I was used to something with a real dynamic backup camera, then yeah I'm sure I'd be upset about this one too.

From my perspective right now, it's just a perk, as I never had one on a previous car. So I simply use it as having eyes directly behind me when reversing, which is better than nothing. Would be nice to get state of the art of course, though!
