Question Caliper Covers?

I was just showing off my E350 (w/Sport Pkg) to a friend and noticed that my front calipers have a black Mercedes Benz cover on them, but my rear brake calipers don't.

Is this how they come from the factory, or did the rear brake caliper covers somehow fall off? I've never noticed this before.

yep...i thought the same thing...that if fell off somehow...cuz there are 2 little holes that I thought a plate cover would fit in there...but, I was wrong...didn't come with it for the rears....too bad though...should have a plate cover.

Front only and I believe it was only on the Sport in 2010 which also has drilled front rotors. The Luxury did not have the covers or drilled rotors. No information about 2011 or 2012 or E550 models.

should the not only have put caliper covers on the back but also drilled rotors back there as well... Come on MB, why do you make us have to finish off the look?

Yes, I have a late model (September purchase) 2011 E 350 Sport and it does have the drilled rotors with the "Mercedes Benz" cover on the FRONT ONLY calipers. That is the way they were built. I remember the day I bought mine, I was comparing all the "E" on the lot. I mentioned it to my salesman and he didn't even know the front ones had the cover, mucl less that they were different from the rear. I wasn't surprised at his response.

Im a big fan of painting the calipers,,did it on the ex E,,yellow on a quartz silver car,Im thinking red this time, its a good move to protect as well as create a look.
My '10 has the cross drilled in front,,sport pkg but no caliper covers.

I'm just happy that the fronts have the plaques. Saves me from having to think about painting the rotors (which I wouldn't end up doing anyway, if history repeats itself). It's kind of a "meet me at the middle" approach. Not sure if other cars have these kinds of things, but my W211 certainly didn't.
