Lol. Yeah, I understand, it's kind of a tease. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Unfortunately, I was too lazy to pull the car out in the sun, so you can't really see how the car shines under natural light, and the lighting in this particular garage is so bright fluorescent, that it makes it virtually impossible to see the proper depth and/or quality the detail has given the paint, but it's what I got....
Oh, and might I add. My hood star is SO BRIGHT AND RICH/SHINY. I used the Sealant on it, and it's like standing up so proud and brightly on the hood.

Aw man, you gotta park it outside? The best mod you can do for your car is garage it!
That's actually not my own garage, but yes, garages rock.

This is the hood of my eight year old black Infiniti. It has been washed probably 80 times and always dried. It was polished using the method I described earlier in this thread. The upper right is the driveway. I guess you could call this a mirror finsh. The tree is about 35 ft away. Haven't had time to work on my black Benz just starting to get warm enough. I am anxious to try polishing the MB paint.

WOW! That looks great. I'll probably have the polish done sometime next year (probably next time I clay the bar actually).
Good thing about White is, you just really gotta keep it protected, so off-colored crap doesn't stick to it, and keep it clean, other than that it's not such a maintenance hog.

Agreed about color. Black is the most demanding. Infiniti Obsidian Black is known for being soft and is one of the most difficult to maintain. German paints have a rep for being hard and are not as prone to micro marring. I'll be finding out soon.

This just popped in my head. But bringing up that the "yellow-y/brown-y" stuff is old wax. While that may potentially be true, I remember that when I was cleaning off my windshield, and pano, that nasty brown/bronze stuff was all over that too (and came off with the Clay). If any of you guys Clay your car, or get it clayed, make sure to, or ask to have every window on the car Clayed as well!
Hopefully it was just railroad crap from when the car was delivered!

fwiw, I always clay my windshield. You'll never get any wiper chatter from a clay'ed and clean windshield....

I wish I would have known that 2 days before doing the whole detail process, as the wiper chatter drove me nuts for a portion of a long drive.

You can use any clay and lubricant but Griot's has a denser clay that comes in a compact jar. I keep it in the trunk with a small bottle of clay lube and either Stoner's Invisible Glass or Griot's Garage Window Cleaner. I also clean the wiper blades off with the Stoner's or Griot's. When the blades are clean, they'll never squeak and smear dirt everywhere.

After you clay the windshield, you can polish it. You can clay and clean a windshield as often as you want, it's just glass.

I clay the windshield often and for that reason. Plus I hate dirty windshields and just wanna to look out of a haze-free windshield and see everything crystal clear.
Ever see a smoker's windshield? ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
