hehe:
caught up to a nice E coupe this morning, with a little old lady driving....
I gave her a honk and a wave, but it took her a minute to realize we were
cousins......hehehe..........then she smiled......those do look good.....
when I was a hundred yards away I was wondering to myself "what is that?"
good looking cars

I live in Bethesda/Chevy Chase too! And you are right about it raining E's. Rains S's too. I can usually count on seeing a couple of Bentleys each day.

To answer your earlier question, I have never seen another E550 4matic in our area, which is my model. The vast majority of E's are 350s, probably approaching near 100% but not quite. In fact, I've only seen a couple with Distronic+, which I pay more attention to.
I live close to (but not in, unfortunately) an area where lots of CEOs and pro athletes have houses. Dan Snyder (owner of the Redskins) lives nearby; Michael Jordan had a house nearby when he was associated with the Washington basketball team (hah, don't follow basketball, so can't remember the name -- Wizards?); Dan Rather (or some other known news anchor) had a house nearby; Wonder Woman does or did; etc. Nice Sunday afternoons bring out the toys: Ferrari's, Lambos, and so on. One house about 2 miles away has a beautifully designed 12-car garage that I've heard is full of collectible and rare Ferrari's.
I see more S's than E's on a daily basis. And about half of the S's I see are the AMG versions -- the S63 and the V12 version (forgot the designation). The E-class is for the most part not a head-turner around here.

Yesterday when I was driving around, it was as if everyone had just detailed their W212's. Saw a decent amount of them, but something about them was just gleaming and extra crisp and striking (mine included ), especially juxtaposed with the cars around it.
You gotta love Lease programs. Which is why we see cars that cost double or more of what the average American makes in a year, "everywhere".

There are way more S Class MBs here, too. Driving an E Class is seen as trying to be part of the neighborhood but not really quite there yet. It's a car only for the lowlifes who hope they can maybe fit in.
Everybody thinks I'm a wannabee in my lowly E Class. They cruise around in their S Class and CL AMGs or Panamera Turbo S while their nannies drive the kids to school in the E Class they bought as the household 'service' car.....
