jumping a 2009 e class

I was at my foreign car repair place and my mechanic was telling me on my 2009 e class 4matic i cannot jump it via the old cables where u hook one up to one car and another to my car. Also that i cannot jump someone elses car. He was saying i need a battery pack.

Is this true?

Check your Operator's Manual. It tells you how to jump start your car at around page 342.

A few different ones
I use the Michelin Jumper cables ... check them out it is supposed to be safe for modern cars ... also with our cars you don't hook up directly to the battery, there are terminals in the engine that are used instead.
