I gotta say that the leading reason for me to get P2 was for the aesthetic qualities of the LED drl's, and the Bi-Xenons of course. The visual differentiation of the LED's was a big one for me, as opposed to the then-common double fogs.
I was pretty pissed when the '11's got them as standard. I still think P2 is a no brainer, but at the same time, it isn't as worth it as it was in 2010, when we got a more significant and instantly noticeable DRL upgrade.
I hope that all the models get the straight DRL's from now on! Maybe that will give me that "visual differentiation" that I seek after all! I prefer the individuality and exclusive-to-E Class Hockey Stick LED's, and it'd be nice if not-every W212 on the road had them as well.

I'm surprised they de-tuned the motor on the 550 that much. I would have expected the same rating as in the S/CL-isn't that the way it has always been?
I also don't get the "less options" wanted by the dealers. Do the purchase managers have trouble picking out what to select? Do they need it dumbed down or something? How is giving the customer less choice better?

Totally agree. I'd love to get the xenon headlights but am perfectly happy closing my trunk manually and inserting a key into the ignition and see no reason to pay extra $ for that....

I came to MB after 8 years with VW-Audi and when you have literally thousands of different combinations of paints/interiors/packages/options it makes it hard to anticipate what non "normal" (ie. black/black P1 E350, very common car) configurations to pick and choose for those cars and with an "on demand" society like we have here in in the US. While those of us who know what we want are willing to wait for an order if needed be there are those that want it NOW and are not willing to wait and their loyalty is only to whoever can produce what they want when they want it, does not matter if its BMW, MB, Audi, Porsche or Lexus.
