Any news for VIM hack?
Have read the forum lately and still didn't find much info on the VIM hack. Any update? Is the hardware mod still the only options?
Also, just knew that there is an sofeware update for the command unit, is that free in the US? All I need is just bring the car back to dealer and they will do it for me?
Thanks

Yes ...Nav in Motion will be functional with this unit installed. I had my Independant Mercedes Garage tech do it (Dealership wouldnt touch it). He charged me 90.00 for the complete install.

How come there is a switch? It install outside the nav or behind the nav? Do u need to press anything to operate the VIM?
The reason I ask this question is becoz I saw NavTV need to press "return" bottom 2 times to over ride the lock.

The dip switches need to be properly set because the unit is modifiable for other cars that use different protocol. The entire unit is set behind the radio, so you need to confirm the proper dip switch placement before closing it back up. This unit uses no wheel commands to operate it. Simply hit disc and play, you can toggle through the DVD menu options via the Control Wheel. To move forward to a new chapter, simply do it like a normal CD. To turn off the dvd, simply go "stop" or Change your source. Hope this helps. Just having the ability to use the Nav while driving is worth it.

Insall is easy, do not need to remove radio, all components connect in footwell. Works great, i did it myself.
