E-Class Cabriolet vs. Lexus IS C Convertible Reliability
Hi All,
Need help here. I own S600 2007. Members of this forum have been sharing reliability issues related to transmission etc. Honestly, I have been very disappointed![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
to learn about such issues in such a top tier car. My car only has about 10K miles on it but seeing all this really scares me since the warranty has expired as well.
Anyway, now I am considering to buy a convertible and am not sure if E class is reliable enough. I will be driving this car a lot (may be around 3000 highway miles / month) and need your advice.
For those of you who have owned E350, how reliable is this car (may be compared to Lexus IS C)? I don't want it to break down on me in the middle of nowhere. Please advise.
Thanks in advance!!!

Porsche Macan S SportDesign / Ex M-B's: 11 & 10 & 06 E350's, 02 S500
The E Vert/Coupe is actually essentially a C-Class W204, and both the W204 C and W212 E have been at the top of their Classes in reliability. I'd say the Airmatic on the 550's would be of the highest concern.

That said for the piece of mind I did go with the 7yr 75k warranty so you may want to consider an extended warranty for the MB.
