2011 E550 Trade-IN value
Just thought I post this to see if the figures I'm getting is in line with Trade-In value.
I'm getting $48K-50K.
12,500 miles
P2
Pano roof
Dynamic seat.
Thoughts?
Family is growing. 2nd baby is coming in Oct, so it may have to be a minivan.
OMG I cant believe you said the "M" word on this forum.

Get a GL450 instead.

That is really low of a resale. That is a bit of miles on a 2011, but $48K is a terrible price to sell for, and an amazing price to buy that car for.
would it be possible to wait a bit?
these cars should be valued at a higher price......especially a 550...especially with 4M.....if you have that.....since they won't even have 4M next season....
I will be very interested to see what I get for mine too when I trade it in
for the e63.......going to drive a couple tomorrow!
my dealer says the need for high end used cars is climbing, so that should make the resale climb too.......but he might just be blowing some smoke.............

Also from what I've heard, the Used Car market is at an all time high right now, which makes it a bad time to buy for shoppers (New Cars are much better values for once). I remember in '08/'09 you could get 1 year old cars for the same price (or less) than what you can pay for the exact same car now, counting the fact that those same cars are now 2-3 years older and higher in mileage.

I usually go the trade-in route, knowingly and willingly leaving cash on the table compared to private party sale, but I can't invest the time in placing in ad when I may not be able to reply to an interested caller when I'm out of state or out of the country. Trade then becomes a convenience expense.
If you have time to sell privately, you may get considerably more.

Just for the sake of comparison, I see you have a BMW 550i GT as well. I don't know how MSRP compares to the E550 when new, but Cars.com shows examples with asking price for 550i GT's from $54k-$58K with similar mileage, so quite comparable to the M-B on the used market.
The first year suffers considerably with most models.
Good luck with the total deal for whatever you choose!! And congratulations in advance for the new family addition!!

Good thing is I have all the time in the world and we have plenty of cars to drive. I'll wait for a better deal all around.
Please post up trade-in or private sell price if you've done it.
BTW... had 2010 mdx traded it in for 550i GT. Great trade-in price!

. I'm new to both MB and this forum and I'm amazed at the incredible wealth of knowledge here along with the thoughtful analysis, both positive and negative, that you and so many other members provide so freely.
Plus, so far, the car's a hell a lot of fun!
