Help! Can I drive my E350 with Tranny 2 qts low

First time changing oil and filter in my 2007 E350 and accidentally removed the transmission drain plug instead of the oil plan plug. About 2 qts drained out. Do I still have enough to drive the car to shop for them to do the transmission oil and filter change without any damage to transmission. About 5 - 10 miles.

I wouldn't. But, why not just add two quarts back in?

Because there is no way to put it back. Thru many threads I've discovered the only way back in is through the drain plug with special tools that I don't have.

Why take an unnecessary chance, call mb roadside and let them know you're a full two quarts low on tranny fluid, afraid to drive the car and they may pump it in for you. I've used this service before when I first bought my E55, the oil level was very low and I did not want to risk driving to the dealership, when I was called back by the tech coming from the dealership I told him exactly what was up and he brought the dipstick they use in service which indicated all was good and the gauge was faulty; my point is they can be very helpful to your needs. On another note it's most always best to let the dealership change fluids etc as any resulting liability is then on them. I also know when it comes to debateable warranty issues the dealership and factory normally prefer the cars maintenence be done by factory authorized dealerships and they went the extra mile for me because of it.
I do appreciate the DIY approach to things however, especially and only if you know exactly what you're doing.

If it were me I wouldn't risk it.I'd have the car towed to a dealer or a reliable independent shop. And in this situation,by "towed" I mean via a flatbed.

+1!

I don't care if it costs more (for once in my life). No one but my dealer's service dept. has ever laid hands on my car. In return, they have ALWAYS been there for me, both during the warranty period and, equally important, afterwards.

To the OP, I also strongly urge you to let the dealer service it, if at all possible.
