What if it fails? And, Toyota's would move while the car was in gear and moving. I thought that was an unsafe design. I think I hold the button all of eight seconds so its not a big deal to me. I do think that they should be synced to the key so that the seats would adjust when you push the unlock button on the key fob. Then they would be in the right position by the time you opened the door. My Avalon had two electronic keys and the seats could be set for two different drivers. But hey you know what, perhaps next years model will have it.

There was a time when they said MB would never put an adjustable steering wheel in their car. Low and behold. In addition to safety there is marketing involved.

BMW and Audi both have memories linked to the keys. The BMW even stores temp settings and radio presets.

It is unlikely that you'll find those features on a MB until it becomes a mainstream feature that improves safety.

Consider also the multitude of safety features standard on the MB that is unavailable on other cars - attention assist, pre-safe and so forth.

If it is safety related, there is a good chance that it'll show up on a MB first, then on other German cars, then on Asian cars and finally on US cars.

An aspect of the 1-touch feature, even if disabled while driving, that may be considered a litigation or safety related situation for M-B is that someone who's really tall, like myself, and dates someone super small and petite, like my Girlfriend, might accidentally hit the wrong button while sitting, and get crushed up against the steering wheel. If the force isn't strong enough to hurt someone, there's still those who will want to "sue" for "damages".

Fortunately, nobody drives my car but me, so for all I care M-B could do away with the whole Memory function in general.

Bringing an old thread back to life, I don't use the music registry as it takes too long to upload, loving the HOLD feature and the multi-contour seat!
