Whenever I see a MB on the road that I think is an AMG, I automatically roll down the window a bit to take in the aural delight. You can’t de-badge or fake that.

lol
I was at an M-B Dealer the other day, and they had quite a few E-Classes with AMG badges on the right side. So distasteful, especially considering a Dealer has them on, and some poor schmoe will buy the car all happy with it, probably thinking it came on from the factory.

and he is the only one to give the car a second (and admiring look) he is also the one that can tell a fake right away.
Whatever, great cars, but it is human nature to try to impress thy neighbor or advertise something you don't have...Silicone breast implants anyone?
For a while I made my living as a Yacht Captain: The boat I was driving had 2 Sat-Com Antenna domes over the flybridge..I thought it was a good idea, a primary and a back-up.
Going over the ship's paperwork and checking the files for a receipt while I was doing a warranty claim, I found the details on the 2 Sat-Com domes:
One was real, the other one was empty, or a fake...

Some Mega Yachts carry helicopters, occasionally they carry a fake helicopter, the ultimate in re-badging, or little dick upmanship...

Human Nature and extremly fragile egos, but if it floats your boat.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have a feeling that this badge/no badge thing seems more dear to Mercedes owners than any other marque. No doubt since historically/culturally Mercedes has been known as the marque for badge ****** and those seeking status. The marque of dictators and rap stars, etc..
My 997S came with "model designation delete." After it was rear-ended while parked, the body shop ordered the badge mistakenly but did not attach it. The badge went with the car when traded in for the Cayenne S, which is de-badged. Not trying to hide the model, and pointless anyhow as the Turbo has other body design elements (hood for one) and brakes that clearly ID the up-market version from standard S, but the badge seemed too big. Most people ask if it is the 6 cylinder assuming I'm trying to hide a lesser model.
The badge remains on my 350.

I considered rearranging my badge to say '24 atic'....
but how many Jack Bauer fans are there out there that would get it?
They still supplied all badges for the cars in nice AMG stainless container.
Even when i purchased mine, i wanted to test the 550, or even a RWD, but dealer says that they are "order only", due to them not being popular i guess. But its funny how mercedes Rochester and Bloomfield (upper class neighborhoods) have all the smaller engine models that are loaded with options, along with quite a few AMG's. Its either you buy a 350-4matic or an AMG! No median lol.
