Ethanol alert
According to a local newspaper article, the US Senante has passed a bill to end the subsidy for ethanol production (45 cents per gal.). It is now in US House. Also, appears to be bills being considered that would prohibit EPA from mandating 15% and maybe any ethanol be added to gasoline.
You might consider contacting your Congressional delegation regarding these issues.

This is hopeful news, not only for automobile drivers, but even more so for pleasure boaters and others who utilize gasoline marine engines.
Ethanol has been an expensive, disasterous nightmare in some marine engine applications. Yet another miserably planned, incompletely thought out, consequences-be-damned implementation of law by a branch of the federal government.
Yes, we should all contact our reps. in the House and get them to back this Bill.

BTW, all candidates in the Iowa caucases have to come out in support of Ethanol subsidy, expansion of mandated use, etc. or lose.
Politics is the real culprit.
BTW, learned that it has been attached to a bill that will be defeated which is a round about way of voting for it, but being able to tell lobbyist and ethanol producers that it won't pass.

Not just the EPA, but mostly Congress and last few Presidents and primarily the agri-business corn industry lobbyist and thier billions in funds to politicians.
