Daytime running light repair

As I have mentioned on a different thread, I hit a truck tire retread a couple of weeks ago. It left some black marks on the front air damn and appearently hit my drivers side DRL. The lamp showed no signs of damage except that I could now push one side into the grill. The stealership wanted $535 to replace the lamp, they told me the part was $325, $200 in labor. When I told them I was going to think about it, he said that the lamp was "hanging on by just the wires".

Thanks to this forum, I found the DRL at parts.com for $188. The part shipped directly from a Mercedes dealership somewhere in Ohio (I think). Would have been even funnier if it came from mine! Anyway, about 1 hour of my time and the DRL is now replaced. I have included a photo to show you $535 worth of damages. BTW, two of the three mounts were just fine, hanging by the wires, my a**.

Best way to access, take off the front tire!

Damn Trucking lobby and greedy Congressmen.
I wiped out the front "bumper cover" on a Toyota Camry a few years back due to a retread on interstate. Retreads should be outlawed.
