My boss has a new matte dark grey CL. Pretty sick.
Saw a black matte wrapped E63 in the W212 E63 forums w/ ADVs that is pretty sick as well.

F*** don't show me that!! Lol.
My ideal E-Class right there. I used to hate Matte, and still hate matte black as an entire paint job, but matte white would be my #1 choice on my car, if I got it repainted, or if I were to have it as an option during the times I got into a W212.
Paint durability/ease is a huge factor as well. The fact that I don't have to wax it makes me want it right there, however, durability and longevity aren't proven. I know how to get scuffs off of gloss paint, but not matte paint, and I wouldn't want a paint job that requires me to take it to a matte professional every time bird poop gets on it, or some small but bothersome scuff marks get on it.

So, instead of keying cars, if someone wanted to get back at someone with a Matte car, by way of vandalism, all they need is a microfiber towel and some shiny a$$ Wax, and then buff away.

Definitely not dish soap I'm sure. I'd never put that stuff near my car. Forget about paint even, it will dry out and prematurely age all plastics, suck the life out of rubbers, etc. etc. Those are the little things that make very detailed and paramount impressions, regarding how a car pops in person.

When I got my C300, the dealer had the IWC SL63 with a matte carbon fiber trunk spoiler, great look for an AMG level car, the Cashmere White maybe overkill on a normal E. Also, the "matte" MB colors are more of a satin color finish, looks much better than a matte wrapped vehicle. Have you seen that Satin Guard protective wrap, that's the way I would go, let your cars actual color come through as a satin finish, while being reversible.
I have done some searching, but wanted any second hand info I could get you know? I've heard many things, good and a few bad.....but hey, it's still a cool finish, and maybe the future will bring more advances...

After getting over the initial paranoia, I find that this paint is super durable and the matte (it's really more of a satin) clear is incredibly strong and not as brittle as we'd all expect something with a matte finish to be. Some fool at the dealership tried to scrub off a little stain during delivery and left a shiny spot -- something expressly verboten for matte finishes -- but after taking my pound of flesh for their stupidity I fixed it myself with a q-tip and some 3M paint prep scuffing compound. Basically, the opposite of wax.
Pictures forthcoming soon.

Are you guys talking about Diamond White? That's the color I was going to order but then Mercedes stopped offering light color interiors so we switched to Iridium Silver and all black interior.
