WEIRD STUFF
WEIRD STUFF
In my case, 2011 E550 Luxury, P2, all the extras except night vision . . .
The computers in these cars are so busy, the cars do weird stuff that the dealer service people can't explain to us --- at least not without some clear sense that they really don't know what they are talking about.
While this stuff is not defects, and probably not serious, maybe we need a thread to see if correspondents here can explain what's going on with our software-driven, maybe over-engineered cars.
I'll start with one WEIRD THING:
After driving the car for half an hour, on a hot day, I can park it in the (hot) garage, and come out up to 4 hours later and, without touching the car, hear a fan running. The sound comes from what I assume to be the outside air intake just under the windshield, passenger side. I can't tell for sure if it's also blowing inside the cabin because as soon as you touch the door the car starts doing all kinds of other stuff.
4 hours later???? On battery only???
Does anybody know what's going on???

AHA!! THANKS!
And I can see the purpose, since I've had that experience in other places I've lived. Of course, here in New Mexico, it's not as common a problem.
Thanks for responding.

My previous ride, a BMW 550 didn't do this so after about 6 months of ownership, it would smell like **** for about 5 mins after starting the ac.
