Congrats! What color did you get, and did it come with the new steering wheel, or is that a 2012 feature only? Enjoy and drive safely.
Please post pics as it would be nice to see the new color LCD!
Again, congrats on the car and welcome to the forum!!

Thanks for the update. This confirms my suspicion re: LCD screen. I was able to secure a 2011 E350 4M Sport with the new screen. It was one of only two at the Baltimore VPC with it on a black and natural beige leather vehicle. Thanks again for the heads up and confirmation of its availability in the 2011 models.

I f***in hate you.
Had I known, I wouldn't have gotten my 2011 last month! I want that LCD display more than I want the new motors!

fwiw, when I drove the very latest BMW F10 550i with it's new color IC panel, I never paid attention to it while I was driving. Actually it was more of a distraction. When I'm driving, I'm focused on driving, period. And with the kind of driving I do, I need to be super attentive
What I like about Porsche is the fact that the instruments are analog and clearly visible. And having the tach as the largest instrument right smack in the middle of the cluster is all you really need.
The color readout is very cool and techie, but the novelty will probably wear off after a while (like LEDs have now.) And hopefully it doesn't add more to any driver's distraction (a number one reason for accidents.)

Lol, yeah, who am I fooling.
Something must be wrong when I spend so much time here discussing and studying W212's, and I get a New one in mid June, unbeknownst the fact that June Production 2011's were getting the new LCD (and probably reverse light LED's, and license plate LED's, which aren't a huge deal to me anyway, but I'd take 'em). Let's get it together people! How was this not known!
I agree, but I was actually surprised to find the LCD in the CLS to be pretty "humble". I.e, it's kind of non distracting, and actually isn't as noticeable in real life, as you'd think it is via pics (also, the brown-ish color thing seems to be soft on the eyes). There's nothing wrong with the current LCD, as it's a straightforward, no nonsense digital display, but I wouldn't mind the extra pizazz right there.

Next time, I just gotta try out another car, if I don't keep this New 2011 for a longer haul. Problem is, whenever I start looking at and considering other cars, the W212 always wins out, it's just very much "me" I guess.
