Jerome, did you ever figure out the issue? Did the strut replacement resolve the rattling?

No, the strut replacement did not solve the problem. The struts were replaced very early on. I have since been back and forth to the dealer a few times. The last couple of times I was not able to reproduce the problem while at the dealer. I feel this is due to the weather turning cooler. Initially I thought the problem would occur when the car was warmed up however I'm now of the opinion that higher humidity exposes the problem. I went to the dealer last week but was not able to reproduce it.
I was just looking back at what you wrote in regard to the motor mounts. Last week I also had another issue occur. I was driving along and had to come to an abrupt stop and applied the brakes sharply. Just before coming to a complete stop I heard a thumping noise. I was able to recreate this on that day a few times. It almost sounded like something was lose. I wonder if this could be the lose engine motor mount.

Yeah just a hunch but very well could be as it seems to be a common problem. Good luck to you, keep us updated haha , but very sorry about your frustrating problem.
