Couple issues with the 2011 E350

I have couple issues or should say the wife does with her E

1. When you open the sunroof, in the front there is a plastic black board that pops up. When its up, and while driving it causes the wind to blow into inside the car. When you push it down with your had, its spring loaded, the wind stops blowing inside the car. It seems strange to me. Whats the purpose of this board? Wouldn't the design call for less wind resistance? I do not have this on my CLK and no wind blowing in to the car like this.
2. We have the luxory version of the car and the inside trim and dashboard is all grey colored to match the grey interior. The dash board is a bit darker grey then the seats and the rest of the trim. The car gets VERY hot inside. The dashboard is very hot, and its very hard to keep the inside cool even with the AC going full blast. Thats in Chicago area with maybe upper 80s or low 90s outside. Did not experience so much heat inside the car in the Lexus RX330 (beige inside) or in my CLK (black inside). Guess maybe the windshield is closer to the seats? Or the cold air is not blowing as much on the window? Its set to hit the window.
Anyway, wife keeps nagging me about these things so I just told her I will make a post
Get the dealer to check the a/c. My dash is black, I live in TX where it is 105 today, and my car cools quickly and gets ice cold.

As for the lip on sunroof, I believe almost all cars have them. It is sort of a mini-wind deflector. Have had five Aisian/European cars with sunroofs (moonroofs) and all had one.
