Ambient temperature reading high??

Anyone in the South with very high temperatures think that the ambient temperature reading is anywhere from 3-5 degrees F high? Today in Houston it was around 101 and mine was reading around 105 deg F. Right now it is 96 deg F outside and my in car reading is about 103 deg F. Anyone else experiencing anything like this??

I REALLY need to stop being so OCD. Just went and got in the MB and it was still reading 103 deg F in my garage. Got in my Tahoe sitting next to the MB in the garage and it was reading 98 deg F (Tahoe has not been driven all day). Took the MB for a little ride and temperature reading dropped to 99 deg F within a minute so I guess it is reading about as accurately as my Tahoe. I would rather have it read a little hot than a little cool as I think the operation of the AC may be linked to both the inside temperature sensors and the outside temperature sensor - hotter outside temp would mean AC should cool more (if it is indeed linked to outside temp).

Every car I have had with a temp gauge reads 3-5 degrees higher than the actual temp. Likely because the temp sensors are closer to the very hot road.

I don't think the temp gauge has any connection to the a/c system.
