Headrest issue

Hey,

Got my w212 recently and noticed both the driver and passenger headrest keeps adjusting itself upwards. I keep moving it back down with the headrest button on the door but later on it'll just go back up by itself. I never paid enough attention to see when does it move back up but does anyone has any idea why it does this?

Thx

Thank you for asking.....I thought it was just something I hadn't read in the manual or set correctly. My problem is that my wife's headrest goes up and it is well above where it should be for safety....and setting the memory settings doesn't seem to change this strange behavior where it goes up. Moving the seat forward (manually) seems to lower the headrest.....as well as, of course, just pushing the headrest adjustment button.

When you move the seat forward or backward, the headrest goes up or down with it (very stupid and annoying "feature"). That must be it, unless it has a mind of its own.

I bet that's it....my wife always moves the seat, she doesn't like to use the presets....or maybe her preset is too far forward or back.

thanks.....

I heard they were going to do away with that. My 2002 CLK does that. The theory was it would automatically adjust to your height but I don't see how that would be possible. I wish this didn't exist or had a way to disable. Shocked its still on there. I heard my car is shipping tomorrow!! Cant wait!

It appears that every Mercedes I have had after 2003 did this except for my 2007 CL600.
