Update the Maps....probably a dumb question
Being the responsible new MB owner that I am, I spent the last two nights reading all the manuals. They were not clear on one point....where do we get the Nav update disks and who pays for this?
I am 90% sure this is a dumb question because every other MFR makes you pay for update disks....Hell, my Corvette disks run about $200 per update!

Oh, and another question....should I have received a copy of the maps on disk with my new car? I did not get a disk, so should the dealership have to provide them?

It costs $249 either way.
There is an update for MY '10 and '11 that just came out.
I just did it with a disc from Navteq. They ship the same day with two day delivery free. Better than a trip to the dealer imo.

Don

Your dealer can do it or you can buy it directly from the developer, navteq.com.

The above is correct, but a new map may not have any changes for you. Email NAVTEQ and ask what areas of the country were updated in the newest version. If your area hasn't been remapped then there is no advantage to buying the update.
For example, DC hasn't been redone since 2005, so if you're in DC for example, anymap from 2005 to date is identical - perhaps a handful of new POIs but no new streets.
