Mbrace

I've asked this before and didn't seem to get a great response. Does anyone hear a load squealing noise when they hit the "I" button? I brought it to the dealer and they said it was normal.

On my car, it is really really load and beeps about three to four times.

Yes,I hear it as well when I call Mbrace to retrieve a destination I sent via Google Maps. It's certainly a bit annoying but I've always assumed it was normal. My Comand system, including Mbrace, seems to work perfectly (other than that squeal) so I'm not worried...I'll just live with it.

I do not have this problem on my 2011 e 350...however it doesn't matter, I find Mbrace pretty useless so I'm cancelling before the free time is up.

As one who worked for 20 years in a big city ER I'd encourage you to reconsider because of the "automatic accident notification" feature alone. If it works correctly (and yes,I know that nothing works *perfectly* every time) it could literally save your life.I assure you that there are many situations where seconds can save lives....and major physical trauma (head, chest, abdomen) is one of those situations.

Hey...just my 2 cents' worth.

What you are hearing is the communication connection link. Mine does the same thing. It reminds me of the connection sounds that my old dial up modem for my computer use to make.

+1
It's the sound of digital data transmitted on an audio connection.

Both of my cars have that squeel. It is very annoying. Because of that and the long delay in getting to a real person on mbrace, I have no use for it. After the free trial, I cancelled it on my 2011 and plan to do the same on my 2012. Onstar in my previous GM cars was much better -- faster response and no extraneous noise. Aslo, the Tele Aid system that was on my 2008 S550 did not have that problem. I am convinced MB, although producing great cars otherwise, is not a leader in automotive electronics technology. My 2012 Ford Mustang with the Sync system worked better than mbrace.

You hit it right on the head and I am thinking the exact same thing. My wifes lexus is 100 times better with there enform system. Fast response, better service, and no squeal. I hope MB is looking at cust. sat. and feedback and will make it better at some point. Oh, and lexus enform is a lot cheaper then mbrace....

What strange to me is that on this thread, some people don't have the squeal...
