40k Service on Lease

Hi;

I am about to sign a 4 year lease on an E350 coupe for my kid. The dealer said that since she will only be driving about 8k miles a year, I could just go with the 3 year prepaid service (since the 40k would be a good 7-8k miles away). The difference bt. the 3 year and 4 year service is about $15 a month. Has anyone had experience with turning in a lease before the final scheduled maintenance, and did Benz Financial end up penalizing you on it.

Does Mercedes force a service plan for people leasing their cars?

If not, skip the plans and have a good indy shop do the work. It's a Mercedes not a spaceship. Same as every other car on the planet when it comes to oil changes. Shouldn't cost more than $150-200 with good oil

If the service is not required with the miles on the car - then there would be no problem.

By the way...lucky kid.

The service plan actually works in your favor on the lease...I did it on my C and my E and I am a dealer employee if that means anything.

May not matter, but service is 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first per the manual. My car has only 9,200 miles and whenever I turn it on, it reminds me that "B" service is due in 20 days or so. Had "A" service done 11 months ago at 5,000 miles.

Read your lease contract, mine doesn't say like service A or B, it just says provide car maintenance, so it is your decision. When you turn your lease, no question asked what services you did, dealer more concern about scratched, tires condition and other visible damages. And yes, you can always reset computer which could say something like service C due in - 10,000 miles.
