Works for me. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I can't say how many times automotive-layman people react to my E-Class like it's a $100+K car (i.e, they assume it's the top of the line Benz offering).

Happens to me all the time.
Probably 99% of people in US cannot tell the difference between a $40,000 M-B and a $200,000 one. Personally, I can only tell difference between a sedan, a coupe, a convertible, an SUV and a sports car. Even then, I can't differentiate among them.

Well, even though the wood veneers used in most cars have the same thickness as frog hair, it does look nice. I recently was in a Hyundai Genesis, and I can tell you that, to my eye, the plastic wood they use is every bit as convincing as the real veneer used in my E. It used to be "only God could make a tree", but, the petrochemical industry has come pretty damn close.

I'll have to pay attention to the Genesis' wood next time I see one. For some reason, my eyes are really sensitive to fake wood. I can usually helplessly sense the cheese aspect of it. Then again, my most common source of fake-wood notice comes from GM vehicles equipped with them.

1. I think MB's should be standard with leather.
2. I think the wood inside the E350 im getting looks cheap/fake.
3. I think that people who sit in a MB with mb-tex assume its leather just because its a Mercedes, my c300 had mb-tex.. The look wasnt bad, it just wasn't nice and soft as compared to "real leather"

I agree, leather should be standard in a Benz. Especially an E350 and the C350 models. Cost is at play here I guess.
The only time Mercedes ever used fake wood was in the original ML320 in 1998 and 1999. I wish they wouldn't polish it so much though, makes it look phony. Matte wood was an option at one time in various Mercedes models, but it seems it has vanished in the U.S. except for oddly enough the C-Class Coupes.
