I was very surprised to see that too. Apparently it is considered a "labor only" plan and is therefore not taxed.

You can also buy the plans online.

 

Where can you buy them online? I'm picking my car up Saturday and want the warranty, but don't want to pay MSRP for it.

Check your PM. The info is a few years old but I'm sure still correct. I remember at that time that the forum frowned on posting that info publicly.

BTW - what dealer did you use? I'm ready to pull the trigger right now on a new car.
