My New E550 - more pics
My dealership just got my new E550 today and I can't wait to pick it up on Saturday. It took it about 30 days after the start of production to get to the dealer in VA. I was able track it on the boat as it came over and it was shipped out on the 31st from Germany.
Here is what I ordered:
E550W4: $59,790
Steel Grey: $720
Almond Leather
P02 Premium 2 Package: $6,900
115V AC Power Outlet: $115
Illuminated Door Sills: $800
Rear Deck Spoiler: $300
Comfort Box: $290
PARKTRONIC: $970
Split Folding Rear Seats: $440
Wood/Leather Steering Wheel: $590
Sport Package: 18" AMG Twin 5-Spoke
Panorama Sunroof: $1,090
Active Multicontour Driver Seat w. Massage: $660
Burl Walnut Wood Trim
Driver Assistance Package: $2,950
SUBTOTAL: $75,615
DESTINATION & DELIVERY: $875
TOTAL: $76,490
I was able to get the car for 67,899 (without taxes, title), which I think is a heck of a deal . Anyway, here is a picture my salesman sent me of the car after it was delivered. I wasn't to sure about the color, but after seeing the picture I love it.
Let me know what you guys think.

Quite good loaded car, congratulations.
Great color and looks fantastic in person. Congrats on the new ride!
Congrats, beast of car...very nice
Yes and I was torn on that. It would have been a cool toy to show people for sure, but I wasn't sure how often/if I would use it. Heck its not even about the 2 grand really as that would have made very little impact on the payment. I could have asked on the boards here how functional it was but didn't think about it at the time. Either way I'm happy with the build.
Congrats, that was a steal of a deal.
Now I just have to wait until Saturday to get the car. Any recommendations on getting the prepaid maintenance (looking at 5/50) or the MB warranty for 6/100?

The prepaid maintenance seems a bit pricey and I suspect that you can get a much better online price for the same MB warranty. IIRC, there was a dealer in California that sold warraties much cheaper than most dealers. Where you buy the warranty from is immaterial - it just gets entered into the computer system at MB and nobody will know what you paid.

I think that the prepaid service is worth getting assuming that you will have Mercedes service the car. The discount versus what your money earns in the bank(zero these days) is a good investment. Needless to say, beat them up as much as possible. As for the extended warranty, not all insurance policies are created equal. An extended policy bought through the dealership is backed by Mercedes while another warranty could come from a lower rated insurer who could become insolvent. I would only buy the extended warranty if you expect to keep the car past the factory warranty or expect to possibly sell the car yourself in three or four years. Did you ever drive a 2011 e550? If so, how does the new one compare as far as the engine? Thanks. Ned.

I find it curious that you loaded up the car with options but no airmatic?? Was that an oversight or done on purpose? Thanks. Ned.

Thanks for that. I got a response back within a couple of hours, not from her but someone else. Either way there prices are good. For what I was asking for they would save me between 800-1400 depending years/miles. Not much savings on the prepaid maintenance though.
If nothing else it gives me a good starting point with my dealer and the knowledge that I do not have to pay MSRP.
My understanding is full airmatic is a special option ($250) plus the cost of airmatic which i think was like $1600 and the car comes standard with airmatic in the rear just not the front. I chose not to get it because I didn't think the cost was worth it and I was told (right or wrong) that MB used traditional in the front for a more sporty ride/handling. And I wanted a sporty type ride. Now my ML450 has full airmatic so I know that give a cushy ride, but sometimes its pretty rough on these DC roads.

This is what i was going off of. Its from their webpage under the specifications "tab" for the E550. Here is the link: http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl...specifications
------
Front Suspension3-link independent with AGILITY CONTROL
Rear Suspension5-link independent with AGILITY CONTROL and self-leveling AIRMATIC air suspension
---------
But you could be right because I asked the guy who did the PDI and he said he didn't see it. Makes me wonder.

I love it. Almost the same color combo as my '10 I just traded in. The best thing about the lighter two tone is that the ambient lighting will really glow with the lighter inserts. My '12 is an all black interior and the ambient lighting is barely noticeable because the black absorbs it all.

I think the door sills look cool, some people view it as a waste since you only see them when the door. I was hoping the lights would be blue, but this year they are white.
As for the ambient lights... one word awesome. I didn't think I would like them as much as I do. They don't provide too much light as to distract you, but enough so you can see things in the car. I was also suprised to see them on the dash and above the glove box. I'll try to go out a take some pics later tonight.

Beautiful interior!
And I agree about the ambient lighting, it looks STUNNING and so rich against the Almond interior trim.
