Holiday pricing?
Thanks!
when I honeymooned there I was shocked at some of the prices, the gas at the end of the road to the pools on Maui for instance......was more than the top shelf gas is today, LOL.....
of course, you are out in the middle of nowhere......

Suggest getting the invoice / hold back information from the web and then contact your closest 5-7 dealers via internet sales. Get the best 2-3 prices from them and sit tight until right after Christmas. Then start hammering away at the top 3 going back / forth to work them down further to the price you want.
They are "in the money" at this point in their sales plan. The general manager & sales manager are bonused off of total volume and are much easier to work with when their wallet is involved. The other tidbit I found out was that dealers have a tiered pricing structure (coming year) based off of the previous years sales volume. If you get a dealer that is close to the next discount level they are more apt to deal to get there.
Best of luck.

Special ordered a W212, dealer quoted me 62,000 on a 67,000 MSRP car, + 2k conquest so $60,000. Know this guy, and have gotten cars from him before. The price he gave seemed average... but have not done the paperwork yet as the car doesn't exist (no VIN) Would going in right after Christmas be a good time to try to bump that to a # in the 5s or would that not really work, or just a d*ck move in general

In theory, best time to negotiate would be about 5:00 PM on Dec. 24th or Dec. 31.
Consumer Reports has a pricing service (for a fee) and I believe Truecar.com is another. I always found Edmunds TMV to be higher than I actually paid.
Good luck.

They year end quota is a much bigger deal than money / quarterly as the GM / Sales Managers wallet is involved at this point (annual bonus) and the incentive to the dealership is huge if they are close to the next level of tiered pricing. In my case, the dealer ship was looking at an additional .25% off of all cars they purchased in 2011. They needed to sell 3 more car to hit that level and were willing to do almost anything to get there.
Happy hunting.
. but angrypenguin, you should do like what others mentioned. get a few quotes online. save you a lot of time and possibly money as well.
