2010 C63
Just got my wife a E350 and the first thing I did was to debadge it. I am from Germany originally and all my cars are, in good German tradition, debaged,
including my C63.

Back in Germany I had most of my cars debaged and the ones that weren't where "down badged". For example I had a 323i BMW with a 318 badge back in the days. Just for the fun of it.

To each it's own guys. I always thought Germans where serious about their cars ...

Good point. If anyone's been to Europe, surely they've noticed the plethora of de-badged Mercs. And I'm not talking about people trying to look "cool", I'm talking every other dirty, appliance like like M-B roaming the streets out there, i.e this is just a normal factory Option in Europe. Europe is the homeland, after all.

The main reason for debadging in Germany is to prevent the E class from being mistaken for a Taxi.

That makes no sense though. And the E-Class is far from the only de-badged car in Europe (not sure how Germany works specifically). C-Classes, S-Classes, BMW's, etc. all get de-badged. They also all get used as Taxi's, technically, but I don't see any correlation.

Face it K-A you are driving a taxi. Your back door will fly open if you whistle loud enough. If I were you I'd get rid of that car. Move up to an S class. Then people at least will think it's a limo.

Actually, in the States, the S does have a Limo designation, while E's are nowhere to be seen as Taxi's (and let's face it, not like a high percentage of Americans travel to Europe and notice E Taxi's). So maybe the E has a better stigma in the States after all, using the Taxi-O-Meter.

K-A it's impossible to get to you. No matter how hard I try, the diplomat always shows up. All the best buddy.

Big mistake on my part was not buying the V-8. I debadged for the clean look. I have striped moldings and badges off every car I have ever owned. CLS is next on the list and that will be debadged and chrome moldings removed or bracked out whatever they have at the time. 27 more months and the lease is up on this underpowered POS.
