tire pressure on aftermarket wheels/tires

I got TSW's (Mallory5 matte black) with Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus this past summer. Front is 245/35-19 and rear is 285/30-19. They were installed with about 3psi more than recommended (sticker on door jamb). Anyone know how to determine or calculate the correct setting?

There is no real "correct" setting for every situation. Even using stock sizes, the door jamb an approximation and the "correct pressure depends on loading, speed and tire/tread design.

The door jamb info is a good starting point. You can add air in 1 or two psi increments and see at what point you find the handling/comfort level to be suitable.

Don't decrease the psi by more than about 10% from the door jamb level and don't increase it by more than about 15%

Thanks, I appreciate the response. Unless you say otherwise, I'll assume the heavier the load, the higher the psi.

Nice wheels! I recall using 40 psi in my aftermarket wheels.. the door jamb doesnt apply to aftermarket wheels, altho its very close. Try 40psi and see how you like the ride.

That's always been my understanding.
