My New 2012 E Class
Hey Guys, new to this forum. im an 18 year old student and photographer from Southern California.
I've previously owned a 2008 E350 4MATIC (my first car), then to a 2010 C300, and now I have a 2012 E class.
I'm planning the following: tints all around, tinted tail lights, tinted sidemarkers, tinted eyelids, blacked out grill/hood emblem, blacked out chrome trim, blacked out logos, blacked out rear trunk spoiler, black rims, and possibly some Brabus puddle lights.
Here are some pictures, any advice/tips, etc. to look out for? also, any thoughts or does anyone know/are there any threads about the 2012 LED lights? why did they change the hockey stick design to the AMG straight line LED?
Excited to be a part of the forum
(the 2012 c250 is my little brothers, he just started his drivers ed. and the 328i is my sisters car)

Thanks for the pics . These are awesome shots in deed .
Congrats but a blacked out grill will look oddish on a white color car but you know it's your know and everyone is entitled to their opinion

@BM2BZ - haha tell me about it. my mom and dad each have 2 cars that are white as well :P
@Yosheego - thanks for the welcome
@BenzV12 - thanks. i agree a black grill with no other mods would look odd; i wouldn't black the grill out if i wasn't planning on the other black out mods. im hoping it will come together

Congrats! Thanks for the cool pics next to the other cars (I'm such a sucker for good side-by-side car pics!).
Considering you're going to mod your car to get a whole different character, I'll go against my better judgement and hope that this doesn't come across as crass in your Thread.... but I'm pretty shocked as to how M-B managed to tweak the E-Class into looking considerably worse for 2012. The LED's are a personal thing, and I personally feel a lot of character and front aggression has been lost without them. As well, the new wheels look completely mundane with the cars design, however would look perfect with a Luxury Package. Finally, the "Blue Efficiency" badges are just totally not cool to put there smack dab on the sides!
Anyway, hope you enjoy that baby! The E-Class is always a pleasure to drive.

All is as easy to correct as 1,2,3:
1. I do not like any stock W212 E wheels, except maybe stock 5-spokes that you had on your first E;
2. Badges can be removed fast too and you've done that twice already;
3. LED as you said is a personal choice, which in my case I did not like and preffered a quad fogs look of '10 with P1.

Looking good. I think the black on white will look nice since you are changing most of the chrome to black. I personally like the matte black on white but our cars already come with gloss black parts. There was a thread that mentioned you can swap the old hockey sticks for the new design. I would imagine it would work in reverse too. I personally like the straight LEDs like you have better though.

i'm sorry but i'm not a fan of the straight drl as you won't be able to tell what class is coming from your rear view mirror if you don't pay close attention but it's always not a good idea to pay too close of an attention of your rear view than what's in front of you. however, the hockey sticks are one of a kind and you know it's an w212 coming from miles. too bad i have quad .

it's been a year of ownership and i haven't been back here since i posted this a while back...
here is the most current pic of my car. (what you can't see is the blacked out logo in the back, black trunk spoiler, black chrome strip on trunk, black badge, removed chrome trim on the sides)
love this car, had no issues so far. warranty work on the air conditioning lever that got jammed, and seat that got ripped at dealership carwash. 25,000 miles in 1 year

Fun pictures and great looking E Class.
Honestly, I have twice had a W212 for one week as rentals. One time in France and one time here in the US. Both times, the car blew me away. It was truly the most solid and luxurious car I have ever driven. It feels even nicer than the price.
