CAUTION - VEHICLE RISING

CAUTION - VEHICLE RISING

I understand what this message means, but I don't understand why.

2011 E550 Luxury, P2, etc. I've had this car for a year, now, and until this week have never had this message. It occurs when first started in the AM. Garage temps in the low 40s. (Last winter, the outside was below zero and garage in the low 30s, and there was no such message.)

I understand that the car is saying it was lower to the ground than expected, and Airmatic was returning it to normal height. But why is the car now too low after sitting all night?

Does this suggest a leak in the system? A defective valve or more?????

Yep - that looks like some sort of defect.

If you do have airmatic on your car then it should have something to do with it.

There's a recent thread here called "Airmatic issue". Looks like you've got the same problem. Dealer will replace the air springs.

That looks like it. I checked this AM and the rear tires were all the way up in the wells.

I'm really torqued at Mercedes Benz. I paid almost $70,000 for a car less than a year ago, less than 15,000 miles, driven conservatively, and it has had the following defects, so far:

**** Defective hood latch.
**** All four brake rotors way out of runout spec, pulsing; replaced.
**** Crazy, nuts issue with fold-down rear seats making them unusable; fixed.
**** Brutal, tranny-bashing upshift if the gas pedal lifted a hair going up a hill. Dealer denies defect.
**** Embarrassing squeaky brakes.
**** Now an Airmatic defect.

What's next???

This hugely expensive "premium" automobile has had the reliability of a 1971 Ford Pinto!

AAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!!!

Mercedes Benz service is outstanding! I've just had TOO G*D D*MN MUCH OF IT!!!! I didn't buy this car to employ mechanics . . . I bought it to drive!!

2011 E550 4matic
posted this somewhere else. Car is dropping on the suspension after being stopped for a while. I'm getting the airmatic malfunction alert. I have an appointment thursday for evaluation. I'll post an update after that.
