Actually it is possible. Last year there was $4000 conquest money plus some other deals which led to a price between $7500 and $10k below MSRP. With a 77% residual on a 24 month 12k lease and taking the full 10 multiple security deposits (not down payments), the monthly cost was close to $425 for some on a P1 bluetec. I was not eligible for all the discounts but I still managed to lease my 2011 P2 e-350 bluetec ($60K) for under $500 per month on a 12k 24 month lease with no money down up front.

Yes, your gut says that you can't lease a $60K car for $500 a month with no money down...but you could and I did.

We are heading to the dealership tomorrow.

I am going to lease, and your lease comment raised my eyebrows. The estimate on the MB website said $830/month for 30 months. What terms did you see $400/monthly? That would be AWESOME!!!!!!! I appreciate your help.
Rates and std equipment vary $400 is cab quality
Buddy get what you want 3x black is the same tex or leather. Very popular in Canada. Leather in black is just redundant unless getting comfort or dynamic option. That and stupid dealers goof and order burl walnut as std. hahaha they are playing you. New ML in Canada black ash is std. Fyi enjoy what ever u decide. I wear jeans so blk or dark for me

@Gravitas, did you get a sport or a luxury sedan? Because the steering wheel that you have is for luxury.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
That is a sport package sedan - look at bumpers, wheels and yes the steering wheel. Three spokes steering wheel was/is sport package steering wheel with "wheels package" only which is now available with wood for 2012. Luxury package steering wheel was/is always a four spokes with or without wood.

Into third month with the BlueTec. The more I drive the car, the more I like it. It really is turbine smooth on the road and mileage reports read here are no phonies either.

Mine is a sport sedan. That steering wheel (check the MB website) comes with the sport styling package.

I agree I am liking mine more and more. Just questioning now if I should have leased reading the deals on the BTC here. Really wasn't considering leasing. Somehow I feel leasing is a bit contrary to the what most diesel drivers plan to do with their cars (high mileage and potentially keep many years), but with those deals definitely worth considering.

Congrats on the car and lots of Happy Motoring!
One thing I did early with mine was to fashion a couple of small boxes for the console. Got a plastic CD holder and trimmed it down for one. Unless they changed it, it is just one really big box. Most cars seems to have a big box with a small tray in top for small items.
Spend a LOT of time with the Operator's Manual and the COMAND Manual. Make notes in margins, underline things, read carefully, etc. I even made up several cheat sheets to keep in my car until I got used to using all the features, especially COMAND. Wife still uses them to find stuff on Music Register.

Man, if you are going to be driving long time as I am, I would prefer buying as opposed to leasing. Enjoy your new toy and report often so everybody can share your experience.
Is runflat that bad? Realistically, it is not that bad at all. Time will tell me more. That is one area I've had concerned with.

Make boxes/holders

The console box is a big box and easy to lose things in it. Most cars today come with a large box and a tray of some kind in the top portion.
Anyway, I went to Target, bought a plastic CD holder and then cut it down to fit in the box-holds about 8 CD's.
I also made a small box out of cardboard to hold small objects.
May not be desired for many because of all the cubby holes in E class, but I wanted a more organized console box.

What are CD's???

I love the fact that I never have to remove my phone from my pocket now because of bluetooth audio. It's very unlikely that I will ever use the memory card slot, USB, auxiliary audio port, or even the iPod interface. The bluetooth audio is all that is needed for me now.

2012 E350 BlueTEC
Just finished my 2nd week with my brand new Palladium Silver E350 BlueTEC. Never have I enjoyed driving a car so much, which is why I already have over 1000 miles on it!

I dealt with a local dealer's internet sales manager on the phone and offered 50k including the conquest cash and he said come pick up the car, so I did. The process was just as easy as the last time I bought my beloved C230 over the phone 7 years ago.

And the MPG reports seem to be correct. Trip meter has me at about 32MPG since driving the car off the lot. But based on my last fill up and assuming the dealer actually filled the tank before I took it, it might be closer to 29MPG. That's over 10% better than I was getting from my supercharged 4-cylinder of the C230! This car is amazing and I only hope the reliability is as high as what everyone claims a diesel is.

Yes, your car is what it is and will make you happy. BlueTec is something else. Just report your experience often. You'll find this forum to be worth hanging around.

CD's are those music storage devises that sound ten times better than any highly compressed mp3 file. Try some, you may agree. And you can store them on your hard drive as well. Regards. Ned.

Or do what I did and encode all your CDs with a lossless format so you don't loose any quality and don't have to listen to compressed garbage... I replaced the hard drive on y iPOd with a 230 GB drive so I can fit my entire music collection. I keep that iPod permanently in the car and though I have SAT radio active 90% of the time I get all my music from the iPod interface. With the kind of money we are investing in audio systems for cars I wish more attention was paid to the quality of the sound source...

I agree and can verfiy that . CDs audio quality is million times better than MP3 devices . I burned an audio CD and played in my marantz and in order to compare it ,I listened very same track in my MP3 player via 3.5 mm audio jack
WOW, that was incredible and very crisp sound from CD

However, do not leave your CDs in your MB Audio 20 because I heard that if you leave CDs in your MB Audio Devices and your car is under extreme summer heat , these units are broken and no repairable

You're the man!! That is no doubt the way to go. I would imagine it could be quite the job to get your music collection onto the ipod. Can you store the lossless files on itunes? Thanks. Ned.

Some of my collection is lossless and some is high bit rate lossy. I like the idea of leaving an upgraded ipod permanently in the car though.

I will do definitely do that. I've been lurking these forums since getting my last Mercedes and just realized that yesterday was my first post. I've been coming here for all the great DIY information.
