Mercedes Saved My Life
Stay safe everyone and remember to look both ways when going through an intersection. I was drilled by a Suburban on the driver's side at 40mph and it took the FD an hour to cut me out. 16yo kid blew a red and never even hit his brakes.

A teenager in a Mercedes CLK split an Acura TL in HALF by running a red light and T-boning it at around 50-60 mph. The forward portion of the car, carrying a young korean couple, spun into a utility pole killing them instantly. the rear portion was demolished and strewn across several lanes. It was later reported that the teenager was high on marijuana and the car was stolen from a family friend (iirc it wasn't his parents' car).
Consider yourself very lucky, Especially considering the impact was from a MUCH larger vehicle. Be very thorough in making sure you have no injuries. The hoodline of a Chevy Suburban sits roughly at the same level as your face when you're in a passenger car. Make sure you get your head checked out very very thoroughly.

Glad to hear the W211 did it's job. Interested to see how the car took it via pics.
everybody has to be more careful on the roads now especially during long weekends.

Don't wait too long to see your Doc if the neck pain continues. I still have problems from hitting a deer at 75 in my Nissan 200SX 30 years ago.
. like what cavu said, go see dr/specialist right away if you guys feel anything wrong. i know chiro, rehabs, therapists and whatnot are pita but health is the most important. btw, try acupuncture as well. i feel like that is better than any other specialists. take care, buddy I couldn't even imagine. CONGRATS!! Take this as a positive, these things can and should be life changers (for the better) if you're fortunate enough to make it alive.
Needless to say, I am buying a W212 for my wife and children to ride in.
I am glad that your loved ones made it out safe. Props to Daimler AG!
The W211 was consistently rated the safest car in its class during its time, and nearer to its debut was actually called the safest car in the world by several safety institutes/agencies.

Especially with a child now I am glad we are in 2 MBs rather than giving into the temptation of saving some bucks on lesser vehicles...
Now we have GM advertising the brake drying feature as if they invented it. It isn't the first time they've done this.
I suppose you could argue that Mercedes are responsible for preventing an untold number of injuries and deaths.
