Buying a new E550 2011 or 2012.
#26
I went for the 2011 with P2 and a few other extras. 4 dealers in the NYC area had almost identical 2011 cars and I negotiated a little over $9000 off on the sticker. That was the easy part. Tough part was having my kids with me at the dealer. My daughter got bored after a while and we could not find her. Turns out she was in the showroom getting comfortable in the back seat of a S550 playing with her IPod touch.

Congrats on the new car man. It's a personal choice on how you feel at the time which will make you happy.
I was in the same quandary in December went in for a '11 350 BTC in the color I thought I'd want but after seeing a '12 Diamond White (color I thought I'd never want/payfor) and options I initially though were unnecessary I really fell for the car and went with the '12. Strange how things work out was really going in to try ride a hard bargain on the '11 which is still on their lot now.
I had a 1 year old with me as well for about 3 hours at the dealer though he did pretty well must be an MB fan

We are excited for you!!! A can't go wrong decision. You will love the car. I would just caution you as someone who lives in the NY metro area with tough roads, the airmatic shocks don't give too much when you hit potholes. This combined with the 18 inch rims makes blowouts much more likely. Be extra careful. I went so far as to changing, at my expense, to 17 inch rims. You lose some handling and fun factor, but the one double blowout 1/4 mile from Lincoln Tunnel in NJ was enough for me!!! Enjoy and regards. Ned.

It is a almost criminal what Mercedes is doing selling these cars with such fragile low profile tires. I can imagine them on an actual sports car but they are so impractical for a daily driver, such as an E class, that should get you to your destination without leaving you stranded. I too got rid of the stupid low profile tires after multiple wheel failures. I'll never accept delivery of a car in the future with low profile tires.
