Hi, anyone have suggestions on where to get and the installation involved with black or smoked highbeam light covers and stay within CA (California) legal limits? I'm referring to the front lamps that are to the inside of the front headlights. Also, I read some threads that involved blacking out (painting) the four DRL/foglight chrome trims. Could you please share specifics on how you removed/painted/re-installed the chrome trims. Thanks.

Any cover over the lights is in violation of FMVSS 108. Technically that includes the clear Lamin-X type of covers but if installed correctly they are invisible. The purpose of tint is to be visible - ergo it is "clearly" illegal.Originally Posted by ronjavier

I covered the inners and eyelids with CF, and covered the headlights with light tint. Painting the chrome trim around the foglights was not too bad. Didn't remove them, just taped around and painted.
