Yes, they're as securely fastened as the originals. Their shape probably makes them easier to use manually. The originals are just fluted cylinders, while these have an inverted bell shape.

Don, I just ordered the exact same pins from Amazon.Com. After thinking about the $200 for a set from the dealership(that was after a "pity" discount), I decided if the "cheap pins" were good enough for you, they were good enough for me.
I did see two other choices for the same price. One with the Brabus "B" and one set with the "AMG," but I opted to go with the Mercedes Star on top. Thanks for the info and posting the pic.

If these are not the right ones I would appreciate the link for the ones you've bought.

Do you have to buy 2 different sets because I'm looking to buy one of these kits on ebay but the seller says that it does not work on the rear W212 lock pins. They only sell one universal kit. I have a 2012 E350 4matic and I absolutely love it but I but a hate the lockpins that look cheaper than my XC70's.

Give them a try. At the price you can't go far wrong.
Do be careful when press fitting the rear. Don't try to get every last mm. Some people have pushed the cable into the door which would require removing the door card.
Some have used a drop of super glue to assure integrity of the rear pin attachment.
You will also notice that the rears will stand taller than the fronts. If that bothers you, you can shorten the rears before final assembly.

Don

I don't recognize the seller's name, but the pins look identical. I'm sure they come from the same Chinese manufacturer.

I got exact looking door pins for my W212 2014 model but the rear door pins don't fit!I even got professional help to do it with a Benz mechanic & he says they can't be fitted cause the rubber inside the rear pins does not match the diameter & length of door cable on the rear.Sigh!

I super glued the rear pins in place, never had an issue with them and look very good.

I just got my set. I put the fronts in only - I've got kids that sit in the back seat, and would like them to be able to unlock the doors themselves to get out, and that's not possible with the short aluminum pins.
How is everyone lining up the AMG logo? I debated for some time whether to twist the pins so that the AMG is lined up with the window so that you can read it as you are looking out the window - or turned 90 degrees as if you might read it while looking forward from the rear seat...

I didn't understand the problem correctly. Do the rear door pins not install correctly or do they not function correctly? I've got my new set and I'm getting ready to install. I read someone had to use superglue to install the rear pins......? That's ridiculous. Is that the standard installation procedure? Thanks.

I think comment was made in regards to rear pins sitting more or less flush to door lining and cannot be manually pulled up. Here are some photos showing front & rear install methods. Illustration shows how lock cable attaches underneath door liner so one needs to be careful in pulling rear pin off.

you have to remove the rear door panel to install the pins properly. it should be shorter than the front door pins to start with. takes 5 minutes to remove the panels. very easy DIY.
bought my aftermarket pins from ebay and all four pins were the same length, ended up cutting the rear pins in half to shorten it then putting glue on em.

^you dont have to if youbuy the correct length rear pins (shorter than the front screwable pins) and if you remove the door panel to install the rear pins "properly".

I've got the OEM pins from the dealer. I assume they should be of the correct length.
I'm getting confused by the explanations.
Konistiger says that rear pins are shorter and will sit flush (cannot be pulled up manually). So really they need to be a bit longer...?
BeejAMG says the pins are longer and need to be cut...???
I want to know which pins / installation will give the length equal to the front ones. Otherwise the point is only cosmetic. I want it to be functional as well. I understand the front ones are simple screw in. Thanks MB for that. Now I have to remove the door panel to install the rear pins...? And how do I do it? Somehow the thought of a totally inexperienced guy (me ) ripping off the door panels of my brand new Mercedes doesn't appeal to me. But I need to know what is involved before hand.

^pami, mate you got me wrong.
When you UNSCREW the oem front pins, and PULL the rear oem pins, youll see that the front is longer than the rear. I bought my aftermarket cf pins from ebay and they were all the same length (long/front pins) so i needed to cut the 2 pins in half to sit flush in the rear. If you bought the correct length pins you dont need to cut like i did.
To remove the rear door panel, its very easy mate. You will need this to "properly" install the rear pinss if you dont want to use glue. I would advice you to remove the panel, trust me, its really easy. Search on google and youll see how to.
You will need 2 long pins for the front, 2 short pins for the rear, screw driver and plastic panel remover. 10 minute job for each door including removing the panel and replacing it back.
