wow, i first thought you were joking around . boy, i feel your pain! i think you better at least give the car a rinse just to remove the sugary drink. that happened to me one time few years back and i actually didn't know what happened. i saw an army of ants crawling from the front wheel, through the engine bay, to the a-pillar, then windshield and to the roof ! it was a pretty creepy scene especially my wife was about to open the door . there was no water around and i was driving w/possibly 5 millions of ants ! so forget about the pollen or your car will get dirty again or whatsoever. get rid of the soft drink asap! also, you don't even know what kind of drink that jerk threw at you. soda is always a bad idea for car paint. there should be a law to execute those morons throwing things to other vehicles . that could be extremely dangerous. good luck, man!

Thanks BM2BZ, there better not be ants crawling up my car tomorrow morning when I go for work!!! I realized I have to be at work super early tomorrow (crap), so I can't rinse it...plus the car is dusty with pollen and I don't want to rinse it because if I do, then when drying, I might streak the abrasive pollen particles or more water spots could result from crevices in the car...Do you think it would be too late to remove the soda spots if I parked the driver's side away from the sun and washed it tomorrow evening? The spots are everywhere, but I tried QD on a couple of spots and they're coming out without leaving outlines behind...

i don't think it would be too late to remove the spots but sooner always better than later. in fact, why not have some mobile detailers come over to have them pamper your baby while you are at work?

I am very sorry to what happened to your car . You should have stayed at home . Seriously , I never throw something off the car , if I have to do it I stop the car and find a proper place and dispose that rubbish in garbage bin or anything like this .

I would clean it ASAP! One of the biggest problems is the leaves stuck on the car. I have seen cases where leaves left on the car, simply stuck their by rain water, left a permanent discoloration in the paint.

If the liquid was cola, that is about as bad as it gets next to acid. I feel for you my friend. Fingerprints on my cars bother me, much less your situation. If possible, you should have taken an emergency vacation day. I did that once in the USAF. The a..holes mowing the lawn at work (Federal Inmates) cut the wet grass, blowing it against the side of my car. When I came out to go to lunch, my entire driver's side was covered in grass stuck to it. It wouldn't come off without water. I went in to tell my boss I had to take 1/2 day emergency leave to clean my car...he laughed but said GO. Naturally most of the guys enjoyed kidding me about it for quite a while, but if I had it to do over, I would have done exactly the same thing.

Of course if I were you, I think I would have washed it last night at midnight. I could not have slept, knowing I had that stuff all over my car. Best of luck with it

I hope you didn't wait to clean that crap off. Waiting only makes it worse. Agree with BM2BZ, get a mobile detailer over there if you have not already.

I feel your pain too. While not as bad as yours, I was on the freeway about a month ago when I heard a double bang aganist the passenger side front panel by the wheel well.

Something unknown seriously dented the panel in two places. I was just thankful that MB is built like a tank and that everyone was safe with the wife and kids in the car.

Glad your family is okay! I took it to work as the mobile detailer didn't have time today. It was windy so a few tree branches fell leaving some nasty scratches on the hood as well. I can catch a couple with my fingernail but will try using my PC with menzerna po85rd to remove them and if that doesn't work I also have some super intensive polish. These scratches plus the cola spots are a nightmare... I'm so impatient to wash the car, but it's sunny outside so I have to wait another hour until the sun starts setting!

you probably want to wash it while the sun is still up so you can see the paint/spots better. i know it could be hot and sweaty after but a shower will do. you might need to wash it again if you can't see the paint and it could hurt the paint if the soda spots stay longer.

It went ok, I used the PO85rd with an orange pad on my PC for a few minutes on the scratches from the trees and most of the scratches came out, but some are too deep...Overall, the car is much improved! Thanks for asking BM2BZ!
I'll post some pics tomorrow in the sun if I get a few extra minutes, but you're going to have to excuse the wax residue! I'm horrible at removing wax lol there are streak marks everywhere. The soda spots mostly came out - there is an outline of each spot, but I have a gazillion of those anyways from water spots; I parked the driver's side of the car away from the sun, so there was a shadow over the spots all day
