Post-purchase evaluation ...

I just took delivery of an E350 Sport P2 with AMG wheels, leather, rear spoiler, Distronic ... The works ... And drove Lexus 350 F Sport, BMW 535, and Audi A6. Oh .. My car is black and black with black ash ... Really cool looking if a little Spartan. This is my first Mercedes ... Been driving an Escalade for the last six years, Suburban for 7 years before that, so major change. My first new sedan since a 1981 BMW 528i. I believe I made the right choice ... What do you think?

Absolutelly. I also considered all cars in your list and drove all of them, but Benz is still best as overall value.
GS350 has very questionable exterior styling, the new generation drives not much better than previous and everyone has feel that it is slow. It has nicer interior though.
535i looks like BMW mistake it even loses to Lexus GS
A6 is really fast, but no such driving feel as MB has.
XF is a bit outdated, and fuel economy isn't good.
Genesis is lacking in good driving feel and interior style.

It's not that common coming from giant SUV to middle sized car . You did a godo move .I drove Escalade too .I will be driving W212 in May too E lol .
I browsed and read almost every topic prior to making my decision and finally I was convinced this was a smart move for me and there was no need to wait to place my order

I am sure the more you drive the car the more you will like it

Driving home tonight I was thinking how cool this car is ... My iPhone was streaming music through BT and the ambient lighting is the bomb. I looked at all the other cars, but none of them had the same feel or impact.

Interesting to meet someone who is going from an Escalade to an E-class. I think my biggest challenge has been getting reacquainted with the love of driving a really nice car. The Escalade was a great vehicle for a lot of reasons, but it was not a driver's car. What got you to switch?

It was too large to navigate thru narrow streets and I am not into truck like vehicles because I like lower profile cars lol Otherwise LAnd Rover Discovery - latest gen - would be my order
Escalade was great SUV but not missing it at all , one of the good points for it that it was a real chick magnet too
Well, seriously I think had Navigator not produced by Lincoln ,Cadillac would have not stepped into the SUV market .
I sold it and have been driving my dad's Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham on occasion .It's a real Cadillac imo

You're asking a question to a bunch of E-class owners in a Mercedes Benz enthusiast website. Uuumm... what response did you expect? Ask that same question in an Escalade or Suburban enthusiast website and let us know what THEY think.

I've always hated those Escalades and Suburbans and always wondered why people bought them - except if they serve a specific functionality like the Secret Service backup for government VIPs. You would rarely ever find those in Europe.
