Inquiry - Door Panel Removal/Reinstallation
I'm still considering whether or not I should let my dealer replace my rear door wood trim. The wood trim is discolored in a few spots, but I am afraid that if the dealer removes the door panel (which they have to do to replace the wood), they might break a few tabs, which might result in creaks and squeaks later on in the vehicle's life.
I also noticed that the door pull on the driver's door creaks when I close the door...is this a common problem? Once again, I don't know if I should bring it to the dealer's attention...
For those of you that have had trim replaced or door pull creaks, have you had squeaks/rattles after the dealer fixed the original creak? I'm afraid that the dealer will be careless with my panels and if they break one clip door panel, I doubt they will order another one given the $1200 cost.

The door panel doesn't have "clips", it has receivers. There are plastic pins that sit in the receivers and the plastic pins are designed to self-destruct (if needed) to maintain the integrity of the door panel.

The clips are pennies to replace. The dealer will replace any that break. There is absolutely no need to replace the door panel itself, nor would it make any difference whatsoever in terms of rattles.
