HID Kit - adapter for low beam bulbs.

Hi.

Has anybody bought HID KIT from DDM tuning and installed it :

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

My car is 2012 E class with H7 bulbs, low beam.
My question is - Do I need to buy adapter for it ?

Thanks.

I have the Mtec kit...no need for any adapter, plug and play...what kind of adapter are you talking about. most of the kit on the market are plug and play, you just have to make sure you get the canbus one or any kit that have some kind of cancellator in it.

if they are error free, you don't need any adapter.

The DDM Tuning kit will work and not throw any errors. They work fine in the headlights and fogs for my W211. For the W203, however, they only worked for the headlights and the fogs would cut out on driver's side only - so obviously YMMV.

So let me get this straight... You can buy these aftermarket HID kits to install into cars that didn't come w/ the HID option upon initial purchase? (i.e. P1 option pkg = "regular" headlights; and please excuse my ignorance...I've been out of the "aftermarket" game for awhile...not up to speed! ) If true:

1) What's the best/most reliable product out there? (think I heard the off-brand products from China were not reliable, correct?)

2) How much does a good kit run?

Ummm...never mind. Please disregard my previous post... I see that this subject has been given way more attention (both positive and negative) than is needed and I don't want to reopen any wounds caused by other threads on the same subject. So I will politely bow out and keep it movin'...

I had a DDM slim H7 8k kit with the CANBUS adapters and it through in-dash BOW (left). I installed a Morimoto 5FIVES 6k kit and made sure to mount away from SBC (w211) and it does NOT throw BOW or flicker.

Not sure what bulb the GL takes, but here's a link to The RetroFit Source and the Morimoto kit if you're interested:

Does anyone have a problem with the lights not coming on in auto? My lexus even with the wire harness doesn't always fire.

I only hear the canbus term with german cars. With the lexus they talk about getting a wire harness which i got. They still both dont fire sometimes even with harness.

They all say the hid companies don't advise using the auto lights. I could not believe how crazy that sounds. They tell me to stop crying and just turn lights on and off manually.

This is not for GL. I just got E Bluetec one week ago with P1 package. Regular hallogen lights. When I turn them on - seems like no lights at all. Especially after my GL has HID and previous E had it also.

I should receive HID kit at the end of this week. Hope it will be better than regular lights.

halogen = no lights seems a bit exaggerated . but they sure are not as bright and not as good looking. you don't have to "hope" they will be better than the halogen. they WILL be better . i still can't resist to look at them when they are on .

Installed it today. Looks good. Light is very bright, almost like real HID from P2 package. Here is the picture. Sorry for crappy quality..Iphone.
