"Nice Mercedes Benz car sir"

. i got compliments three times so far...first time from my mom & sis, second & third time from couple of my friends
. no stranger approached me nor officer pulled me over just to say how nice the car is

...lol (BTW, are you prior military? --just curious in regards to your "European" spec'd inventory of previously owned vehicles). To the others, I have to say that I didn't notice the W212s in this area as much as I do now... They are definitely out there! I just don't see a whole lot every day. I commute to work an hour+ each way, and on average, I'll see one or maybe two W212s (mostly '11 MY), and a butt-load of W211s & 210s. Some 211s are in seriously AWESOME shape, so much so that I almost wish I had that bodystyle--the '09 Sport is still sweet to gawk @! And good point about the S-class...after thinking about it, I do see a bunch of those on the road--that's a $100K-$150K+ piece of luxo machinery for goodness sake! I must be in the wrong career field...lol Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I truly "mbrace" the feeling of exclusivity owning an E-class (M-B is the ultimate brand in my eyes), and I cringe each time someone refers to the E as "common"... But I do get what you're saying now, K-A...thanks for clarification.

Those who think E's are "everywhere", don't get out into the common-folk neighborhoods. Whenever I step out of my own little bubble, I nary see an E anywhere. In areas near me that are more prominent with wealthier folk, I too see more S-Classes than E-Classes it seems.

I was still crawling on all fours in '68!!! lol Wow, true "OG" Chief pedigree! Sweet. I recently retired AF as well, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the "after-life", so-to-speak...(only I hung up the uniform @ MSgt so I could make some real money!
) I could tell you were stationed over there w/ your German catalog of cars (sniffed you out! lol)... Been to Germany twice myself for total of ~7 years (once to Alzey AS--near Sembach; and again to Porsche HQs/museum--Stuttgart! Much better experience being stationed in Sud-deutschland IMO!). Trier is beautiful; right on the French/German border...I remember rolling thru there while we picked up/convoyed a "train" of 5-tons from Bitburg AB (or was it Spangdahlem? --so long ago, can't remember!)... Absolutely LOVED the Doppelbocks while over there! Nothing like German beer!!!
