Great, so MB having more cars in shop for the same issue will finally issue a remedy on production level.
In my understanding dealer doesn't pay for any work in scope of warranty, it just bills MB, but dealer should prove that no fraud charges issued.

Let's hope it fixes the problem. Your car is way too fine to have an issue like this.

Her SL has 2,000 miles on it. How could there be fraud on a brand new vehicle?

He means in the general sense of the term that they are not submitting reimbursement claims to MBUSA for work they aren't doing to your car. like fraudulent medicare claims for services not rendered.

They called today and the Service Advisor the noise was coming from the left front pad/rotor so that is what they changed out. He said they kept it this afternoon so they could check and it isn't making any noise and wanted to check it one more time tomorrow morning.
So we will pick it up tomorrow after work and see.

Is your dealer seriously changing only one side of brake components on the same axle?????!!!!!?????
I have never heard about this done on any car. The "rule of thumb" is that on the same axle you do the same work on both sides.
You have a car that cost more than an average house in the country and they pull this BULL S..T on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am starting to think to go to some other brand next time I need a new ride. This is absolutely unacceptable from a car maker like MB on any car they make, on an SL it should not ever even happen. Who the hell is running that company now????!!!!????

I'm not concerned about just changing one rotor, pad and sensor since it only has 2,000 miles on it. If it had say 10,000 miles I would say differently.
They say that haven't had another one with that problem; however, this is the only 2013 SL550 they have had.
They kept the car another day and ran some more tests. She drove it home and now we will see. Will let everyone know if that stopped it.

Let's hope it is ok and if you are ok with them changing just one brake on the front axle then fine but remember that in normal city traffic these brakes can wear out in 20 000 - 30 000 miles so potentially the brake they did not change can be 10% gone already.
And if they did not work on the other brake fearing creating an issue then what do you think they will do if you keep the car long enough and you really need to replace both sides?
Very questionable from your dealer part and if the new brake fixed it then is it even the same kind of a rotor compared to the one that was left in the car? Did they create an imbalance between the front wheel brakes by replacing only one of them?
I personally would not accept this as a fix but this is just me.

Have any other owners of 2012 E550's had anything to report on issues with squealing brakes? If so, what did you have done to correct the problem?
