Spot on! If cars are boats, those old Marks were battleships.

Exactly, People seem to think that Electronics make up the car these days.

To me, electronics aren't even a selling point. Design, refinement, timelessness, build quality (and this INCLUDES chassis and safety cage materials and construction) engineering, holistic feel, etc., and Caddy isn't near M-B there. It isn't ignorance speaking, it's an OCD way of analyzing these cars and driving them and coming to a conclusion. When I buy a car, even though I go through them fast, I require it to be a car that I can own for a very long time if I want to, therefore electronics go further on the back burner when comparing all the mentioned merits that I spoke of.

Are you for real...holistic feel!!! You're in to what you can lease for cheap. You are full of yourself and crap. I just love your in depth design analysis. I've been a design professional for 34 years...yes some of that time was spent at GM Detriot. You really are a nieve ***!! Nif said.

Relax douchenozzle.

Holistic: Characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.

Not much of an artist if you can't grasp the concept of that.

And leave the "what you can Lease/afford/cheap" crap out of it. It's classless, the first sign of an unintelligent debate, and shows that you have little to no merit in whatever argument you're trying to convey.

Steelgrey: As a former GM designer you should know. BTW, really loved the Pontiac Aztec. It was holistic as well. Good job! Now, lets all play nicely.

K-A: douchenozzle? as a lead-in to an intelligent debate? enough said.

When one acts a douchenozzle, one gets called a douchenozzle.

Lol. Glad to do it.

Sometimes, you can't find an intelligent word to get your point across....

Enter: Douchenozzle.

The economy must be better than I thought as apparently the W212 can now be afforded by 6 year olds these days based on some of the postings on here with all the infantile name-calling...

This is really funny...I haven't been online for a while. Missed the whole thing. Is Douchenozzle a German word? I'm embarressed. My grandfather was Dr. Haussermann a member of Werner Von Brauns Rocket team. He actually designed the guidance system of the Saturn 7 rocket. Which took us to the moon...and I didn't know the word Douchenozzle. Sorry K-A missed your post.

Talking

I just learned today that the word "scumbag" is actually a reference to a used condom!!
apparently a group of elderly folks were very offended by it's use on a recent television program of some sort.....

but if that's the case, it gives the word a WHOLE new meaning as I'd never heard of that.........was from the 30's or something

So are you calling him a liar? Or are you just making sure he's accurate w/ his statement/reference (i.e. possible typo, etc...). Just sayin'

Actually I wanted to buy DTS, but dealer said no DTS anymore, Cadillac stopped the line and it will be some replacement. It is really cool to see it. I want to Cadillac return back traditional American big cars, comfortable, with plenty power, and status symbol. However looking at the link I could say I could stick with Equus instead, at least Equus will be better equiped, roomier, more power and cheaper. Any opinions?

Not that it really matters. The Saturn 5 was unmanned...the Saturn 7 was indeed the craft that carried those brave idiots (I mean that with the greatest of respect) to the moon. Dr Haussermann developed at that time the most powerful computer guidance system of his time. Sadly last year he died at the age of 94.

Ok, back to cars and why German's make the best.

It does matter:
The Saturn V was flight-tested twice without a crew. The first manned Saturn V sent the Apollo 8 astronauts into orbit around the Moon in December 1968. After two more missions to test the lunar landing vehicle, in July 1969 a Saturn V launched the crew of Apollo 11 to the first manned landing on the Moon. Saturn V .... Not 7

I proudly remember that day. I was in the dayroom at Naha Air Force base Okinawa. All watching with wonder. It was the only TV we had.

Setting the record straight...thought for a minute he just didn't know his roman numerals but after his last post it appears that was not the case. What's with the rolling eyes?

Many of the parents of my schoomates were engineers at Bell Labs in the 60's and developed the communication and other systems for the Apollo missions. I had a model of the Saturn 5 in my room as a child; there was and still is, nothing else like the Saturn V.

I would stay glued to the TV from the minute it started until it was over. I did the restricted Tour at the Space Center were an Original Saturn V (Apollo 17? I think) was on display. It was amazing and so impressive. What a proud moment in our history.

Sorry for the distraction from the OP topic.
