Does suspension get softer?

I borrowed an 8 K mile demo E 350 and the suspension was amazing. Taught, was the word.

Running on the same size wheels my car has done 23k - my dealer told me that suspension would get looser and that it was normal for a car to soften up a bit. They drove my car, and said it felt the same as any other E Class, even though the newer one seemed more taught.

I thought this was bollocks and wandered what you thought I should do.

Its as though I no longer enjoy driving fast as it seems the car doesn't like the sporty drives, the weight seems to roll and wallow more than it did.

Could this be me getting used to the car and going off the characteristics or is the dealer a lazy toss bag and making stuff up.

I checked my tyres too, they are ok, I am running on 18s.

?

What make and model tires are you running?

Some of the 18" tires are better at handling, at the expense of comfort. Some are more comfort oriented with less handling capability--- softer sidewall but roll a little more in corners.

Also, what make/model tires on the dealer's E?

thanks

I'm sure it's you getting acclimated to the car, it's crazy how our senses change when that happens.

I've found mine to get rougher over bad roads as the miles add one.

It makes perfect sense that the car will get a little softer over time. The springs, shocks etc will all wear as the mileage accumulates. It is more likely perception.

Do you have the luxury suspension? Maybe the demo has the sport suspension.
